Fish’s Aphrodisiac Power!

Fish is good for sex! As well as your brain, your waistline, and your heart. This low-fat animal protein provides copious amounts of the B vitamins omega 3, omega 6, riboflavin, and B12. Along with calcium, zinc, magnesium, and iodine.

Omega 3, a fat-soluble vitamin, helps maintain a strong heart, aids in brain function, and according to the Washington State Department of Health, may decrease the risk of depression, ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and diabetes. However, fish’s aphrodisiac power lays in its iron, zinc, and iodine. Iron lends a helping hand with the production of vigorous red blood cells, heightening stamina, moreover, iron helps the muscles contract which makes for stronger longer lasting orgasms. Zinc increases testosterone production in men and strengthens the  reproductive cycle in women, therefore,  increasing fertility in both sexes. Iodine gives the body energy, which translates to more vigor for sex!

Unmistakably, fish has potent properties in its chemical make-up, but the lore of seafood makes it an aphrodisiac. According to legend, Casanova ate 50 oysters a day to ensure strong desire. King Henry IV ate eels to make sure lust was never turned away from his bedroom door. I must ask myself, how these men (I’m sure women too) knew the effectiveness seafood had on their desire? What ever the answer they were right. To test this I made my man “black and white salmon” on a weekend we decided to stay in….and it was delicious!

Black and White Salmon

1/2 cup of Tamari or soy sauce

2 large  cloves of garlic, minced

1 tbsp. ginger, minced

1 tsp. of toasted sesame oil

2 fillets of Wild Salmon

1/4 cup of white sesame seeds

1/4 cup of black sesame seeds

Pre-heat the oven to 450 degrees. Blend the Tamari, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl, place the fish skin side down in a large bowl. Refridgerate for thirty minutes, turning every 10 minutes. Once the salmon is marinated, mix the sesame seeds on a plate. Press the flesh side into the seeds and place on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Bake in the oven at 450 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes or until the flesh is pink.
